Embleton History and Time Line

   
 C11 - C12  Oldest surviving parts of church is the lower part of the tower,
but little else remains of the Norman church buliding.
 C14  Other early remaining parts of church  date to 1330-40
including the upper part of the tower
 1850-67   The church underwent major restoration in 1850 and 1867. 
1892  Peal of six bells installed, cast by Mears and Stainbank
 28/10/1892  First peal on the bells, following their installation
1955
